Gold Panda coins were released for the first time in 1982 with 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz weights. The Chinese Mint added a 1/20 oz weight in 1983. The series continued with these five weights, as noted, through 2015. In 2016, the Chinese Mint switched to the use of Grams for its coins, with the 1/2 oz gold coin becoming the 15 Gram gold coin.
