Gold Chinese Pandas are among the world’s best-selling gold coins. Issued by the Chinese Mint since 1982, the Gold Panda was just the third modern gold bullion coin introduced to investors following the 1967 release of the Gold Krugerrand and the 1979 release of the Gold Maple Leaf. Gold Pandas debuted in 1982 with 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold options, with a 1/20 oz gold coin released in 1983. From 1982 to 2015, the Gold Pandas were issued with weights in Troy ounces. In 2016, the Chinese Mint shifted all of the coins from weights in Troy ounces to Grams instead. As such, the 1 oz Gold Panda became the 30 Gram Gold Panda.

Coins in Mint State 70 condition have full, original mint luster and come with no detracting flaws on the elements or fields of the coin. These particular coins have an MS70 grade, but Silver.com does not guarantee which grading house issued the certification.

On the obverse side of the 1 oz Gold Chinese Panda is a depiction of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. The building is the primary structure in the Temple of Heaven Complex and features on the obverse each year. The reverse face of 1 oz Gold Pandas bears an image of the Giant Panda. There is a new depiction each year, with the exception of the 2001 and 2002 date marks that have the same design.

Keep in mind that 1 oz Gold Chinese Pandas were issued with a 100 Yuan face value from 1982 to 2000 and with a 500 Yuan face value from 2001 to 2015.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase.
