The obverse of Great Britain Gold Sovereigns features an effigy of the reigning monarch that matches the date of issue. The very first 1/2 Sovereigns were issued late in the reign of King George III. Subsequent effigies featured George IV, William IV, Queen Victoria, Edward VI, George V, George VI, and Queen Elizabeth II. The most populous options were those for Queen Victoria, whose 19^th-century reign was surpassed in duration by her great-granddaughter, Queen Elizabeth II. One important note, the 1/2 Sovereigns of Queen Victoria’s reign were circulation pieces, while those issued as of 1980 during Elizabeth II’s reign are bullion pieces.

On the reverse of Great Britain Gold 1/2 Sovereigns is one of two designs. Early coins issued during the reigns of William IV and Queen Victoria featured the Royal Arms, with Victoria’s coins bearing the Hanoverian Arms. All other coins have the 1817 design of St. George slaying the dragon as created by Benedetto Pistrucci.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. When do I lock in my price?
