The United States Mint has used three of its four modern branch mints to produce the bullion version of the Silver American Eagle during its history. The coins were introduced in 1986 and have traditionally been struck at only one branch mint location at a time. In certain circumstances, the US Mint has had to press another mint into service to help meet intense demand. Now, 2020 (P) 1 oz Silver American Eagles from the Philadelphia Mint are available to you for purchase online at Silver.com in perfect condition.

From 1986 to 1998, the United States Mint issued all of the BU versions of the Silver American Eagle at the San Francisco Mint. In 2011, the United States Mint was forced to turn to the San Francisco Mint again for assistance in meeting the demand from investors for Silver Eagles as the price of silver surged to a record high in the middle of the year.
In 1999 and 2000, the Silver American Eagle was produced by the Philadelphia Mint before moving to its modern home at the West Point Mint. With the onset of a global pandemic and steep drop in stock market values in March 2020, the West Point Mint sold out of its available allotment of 2020 Silver Eagles. While sustaining staff reductions and a seven-day closure at the West Point Mint, the US Mint turned to the Philadelphia Mint branch facility to provide an emergency issue of 2020 Silver Eagles to meet demand for the popular silver bullion coins.
The obverse of these 2020 (P) 1 oz Silver American Eagles comes with the image of Walking Liberty. Created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman, this design first featured on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar from 1916 to 1947. On the reverse of 2020 (P) 1 oz Silver American Eagles is the heraldic eagle of the United States as modified by John Mercanti.
