The Royal Canadian Mint’s Maple Leaf bullion coin series launched in 1979 with the Gold Maple Leaf coin. The first additions came in 1988 when the Silver Canadian Maple Leaf and Platinum Maple Leaf were introduced. Silver Maple Leaf coins have the same designs of Queen Elizabeth II and the sugar maple leaf each year, though the Queen’s effigy has been updated twice during the production of Silver Maple Leafs.

On the obverse side of 1 oz Silver Canadian Maple Leaf Coins is the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. All portraits of Her Majesty are in right-profile relief. However, the designs differ depending on the year of release. The 1988 and 1989 coins have the second-generation portrait of the Queen. All 1990-2002 coins have Dora de Pedery-Hunt’s third-generation design. Silver Maple Leafs issued from 2003 onward have Susanna Blunt’s fourth-generation design, the only one in this series in which the Queen is not featured wearing a crown.

The reverse side of Silver Maple Leaf coins includes the sugar maple leaf design. The presence of radial lines and the micro laser-engraved maple leaf privy exists only on the coins dated 2014 and later.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. When do I lock in my price?
